Ingredients

  • 1 cup of nettle (Leaves)
  • 4 cups of water
  • 2 cups of vodka
  • 2 cups of turmeric (Root)

Directions

This easy-to-make tincture combines medicinal properties of two potent herbs: nettle and turmeric. Both herbs are known for their anti-inflammatory effects, especially helpful in treating painful and inflamed joints. As such, this nettle turmeric tincture can help effectively relieve swelling and pain in arthritic joints and enable comfortable and painless mobility.

  1. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan over high heat. Gently place the nettle leaves in the pan and cook until the water boils again.(5 minutes)
  2. Remove the nettle leaves from the pan and place them on a chopping board. Chop them finely. Then chop the turmeric root, too. Place the herbs in a jar and cover them with vodka until the liquid rises 3 inches above the herbs. Put the lid on and place the jar in a dark, warm place away from direct sunlight.(5 minutes)
  3. Leave the herbs to soak for 4-6 weeks. Shake the bottle daily during this period.
  4. After the waiting period, strain the herbs, while reserving liquid. Transfer the tincture to a dark bottle and store it in a cool place away from direct sunlight.(3 minutes)

Put 5 drops of this anti-inflammatory tincture with nettle and turmeric in your preferred hot beverage and consume it twice a day. When stored in a cool, dark place, this tincture will keep indefinitely.
