These homemade cough drops will help you get ready for the season of sort throats, common colds, and coughs. They are very simple to make and require only three powerful ingredients: the antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and immunity-boosting honey, lemon, and ginger.

  1. Put honey in a small saucepan and bring it to a boil over low heat. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon. Using a candy thermometer, cook the honey until it reaches a temperature of 300-310°F (148-54°C).(5 minutes)
  2. Remove from heat, quickly mix in the lemon juice and grated ginger. Set aside for a minute or two to thicken a little bit.(2 minutes)
  3. Drop a teaspoon of the mixture onto a silicon mat. Set aside to cool and harden completely.(20 minutes)
  4. To prevent sticking, you may lightly dust with with tapioca starch. You may also separate them with small pieces of parchment paper. Transfer to an air-tight container and store in a dry, cool place.

When properly stored, these honey lemon ginger cough drops will last for about a month.
