  • 1/4 cup of HerbaZest Kaniwa Flour
  • 1/3 cup of almond flour
  • 1 1/4 cups of oat flour
  • 1 banana (mashed)
  • 2/3 cups of whole milk (or non-dairy)
  • 1/3 cup of maple syrup
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (or almond extract)
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/4 cup of almonds (sliced or slivered)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)


The protein-packed goodness of these wholesome bars comes from combining the power of kaniwa, almonds, and oats. With a soft, dense texture that melts in your mouth, these bars are a delightful and naturally sweetened treat for any occasion. Topped with crunchy almonds, each bite offers a perfect balance of nutty flavors and satisfying sweetness.

  1. To a large bowl, add the mashed banana, oat flour, kaniwa flour, almond flour, baking powder, and salt. Give it a mix.(3 minutes)
  2. In another bowl, whisk the milk, egg, maple syrup, and vanilla extract.(3 minutes)
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the bowl with the dry ingredients. Give it a good mix.(2 minutes)
  4. Pour the mixture to a lightly greased, parchment paper lined baking tray. Sprinkle with slivered or sliced almonds. Bake at 360°F (180°C) for 20 minutes.(20 minutes)
  5. Take out of the oven, set aside to cool down a little bit. Then dust with powdered sugar and cut into bars. Enjoy!
