Directions

Combining the antiseptic properties of garlic and the anti-inflammatory power of echinacea and ginger, this tincture may provide effective relief from common ear infections. It makes for a useful addition to the house pantry, especially for those living in areas with hot and humid summers.

  1. Chop the herbs finely and place them inside a jar.(5 minutes)
  2. Pour the vodka or some other alcoholic solvent over the herbs, until soaked in about 2 inches of liquid.(3 minutes)
  3. Cover with a tight lid.
  4. Let herbs macerate for 5 to 7 weeks. Shake the jar on a daily basis.
  5. Remove the herbs from the solvent, strain them, and reserve the liquid, which is now a tincture.(2 minutes)

Dilute about 1/8 of a teaspoon of the resulting tincture in warm water and apply topically three times a day until symptoms disappear. Consult a doctor for a more personalized dosage.
