- Place the chopped echinacea root and dried flowers in a medium-sized jar (approximately 11 pints) with an air-proof lid.(1 minute)
- Fill the jar with vodka covering the echinacea completely, but leave some space at the top. Close the lid tightly.(1 minute)
- Let the jar sit at room temperature for four to six weeks, shaking vigorously every three days. After the tincture is ready, strain the herbs from the vodka and store the resulting liquid.
This tincture can be stored indefinitely if stored in an airtight jar in a cool, dark place. Use three to four drops mixed with a glass of water, up to four times a day, in order to help cure a flu or respiratory infection. Alternatively, dilute two drops in a cup of tea and drink it every morning to boost the immune system and prevent infections.
