Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons of cardamom (seeds; peeled)
  • 3 tablespoons of cinnamon (bark; chopped)
  • 1 cup of vodka

Directions

This digestive blend of cardamom and cinnamon mixes two carminative champions to relieve painful bloating during constipation or after a heavy meal. As a bonus, cardamom stimulates the release of bile, a mix of digestive enzymes.

  1. Place the chopped cinnamon bark and peeled cardamom seeds in a jar. Pour the vodka into the jar so the liquid covers the herbs. Fasten the lid on the jar.(1 minute)
  2. Place the jar in a dark and cool cabinet and leave to macerate for six weeks, shaking occasionally.
  3. Strain and discard the herbs. Pour the liquid in a tincture bottle on order to administer it few drops at a time.(2 minutes)

This tincture will keep indefinitely when stored in a cool, dark location. Add two to four drops to a cup of hot water as required to make a soothing, medicinal beverage.
