Although aloe itself is flavorless, it adds immune-boosting nutrition to yogurt in this recipe. Aloes can be purchased from health stores, farmers' markets, florists, and online retailers.
- Use a sharp knife to remove the skin from the aloe leaves. Discard the skin, and chop the thicker part of the aloe flesh into small cubes.(10 minutes)
- Place aloe chunks into a saucepan along with the lime juice and the agave nectar. Cook over a low heat, stirring occasionally, until the aloe becomes translucent. Remove from heat and leave to cool.(30 minutes)
- Pour yogurt into a bowl. Once the aloe mixture has cooled, pour over the yogurt and garnish with a mint leaf to serve.(5 minutes)
The aloe mixture can be stored in the refrigerator inside an airtight container to add as a topping to yogurt as desired.
