  • 1 onion (red)
  • 1 cup of honey (raw)

Directions

If you have respiratory issues, this tasty medicinal syrup will be of great use. Onion contains allicin, a compound that's a strong, natural antibiotic. It can also reduce inflammation and loosen phlegm, making cough more productive. Meanwhile, honey not only adds lovely sweetness, but also soothes the throat and prevents viral infections.

  1. Slice the onions and place them in a jar.(3 minutes)
  2. Pour honey over onions. Put the lid on and shake the jar to evenly distribute the honey.(2 minutes)
  3. Let the jar sit out in room temperature for 8 – 12 hours.(10 hours)

Take one to three spoonfuls of the syrup (the liquid part) several times a day (or as needed) until symptoms subside. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
