  • 3/4 cups of oat flour
  • 1/4 cup of white quinoa flour
  • 1 cup of dates
  • 1 cup of milk (or non-dairy)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/4 cup of dark chocolate chip (or more; optional)

Directions

These quinoa oat date bars are a simple, wholesome treat made with just a handful of ingredients. Dates, soaked in milk and blended, provide natural sweetness, keeping these bars free from refined sugar. The combination of quinoa and oats creates a dense yet moist texture, perfect for a satisfying snack. For an extra indulgence, you can add dark chocolate chips, which pair wonderfully with the rich, soft base.

  1. In a small bowl, pour warm milk over the dates and let them soak for about 30 minutes until they become soft.(30 minutes)
  2. Once the dates are soft, blend them together with the milk to form a smooth paste.(3 minutes)
  3. In a bowl, combine the date-milk paste with the quinoa flour, oat flour, and baking powder. Stir until everything is well combined and forms a thick batter.(3 minutes)
  4. If using, gently fold in the dark chocolate chips.(1 minute)
  5. Pour the batter into a parchment paper lined baking dish and smooth the top. Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 25 minutes or until the bars are firm and browned.(25 minutes)
  6. Let the bars cool in the pan before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
