Directions

If you are searching for a delicious alternative to quinoa or lentil patties, you will really enjoy these kaniwa oats veggie patties. They are easy to make, packed with dietary fiber, and abundant in important vitamins and minerals, given their colorful richness of vegetables. They also contain good amounts of protein from kaniwa and oats, making them a lunch- or dinner-worthy option.

  1. Place the chia seeds in a small bowl and the oats in another one. Pour half of cup of warm water in each bowl, give it a mix, and let it rest for 10 minutes.(10 minutes)
  2. Place all vegetables, kaniwa flakes, and spices as well as chia seeds and oats (along with the water) in a large bowl. Mix to combine.(5 minutes)
  3. Mix it the flour. If the mixture is too wet, add more flour so that the mixture can be shaped into patties.(2 minutes)
  4. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Shape the mixture into patties and fry them until brown, about four minutes per side.(10 minutes)

You may serve your veggies patties with kaniwa and oats alongside a salad, brown rice, quinoa, or any other grains of your preference.
