Directions

This refreshing, homemade mouthwash is made with potent essential oils from two herbs from the mint family: patchouli, which has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, astringent, and fungicide properties, and peppermint, which not only offers a refreshing punch, but is also effective in killing pathogens that might lurk in the oral cavity. This easy-to-make mouthwash also contains baking soda, a frequent addition to oral rinses due to its teeth-whitening effects.

  1. Mix the water with baking soda in a jar.(2 minutes)
  2. Add the patchouli and peppermint essential oil and give it a mix.(2 minutes)
  3. Take a mouthful of the mixture and swirl it around in your mouth for 30 seconds. Use as desired or after each teeth brushing. Do not ingest.
