Calendula and Ginger Mouthwash Against Canker Sores

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon of ginger (root, chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon of calendula (petals, chopped)
  • 2 teaspoons of sea salt
  • 1 pint of water

Directions

This anti-inflammatory, antibacterial canker sore remedy provides soothing relief in no time! Calendula contains flavonoids, which work to reduce inflammation and speed up the healing of mouth ulcers. Ginger, on the other hand, is known for its bioactive compound, gingerol, which has strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

  1. Boil the kettle. Combine the calendula petals and ginger root in a mug; cover with water and leave for 5 minutes to steep.(7 minutes)
  2. Strain the herbs and compost them. Leave the leftover mixture to cool and then transfer into a glass.(7 minutes)
  3. Stir in the sea salt. Use as directed.(1 minute)

Use this mouthwash for canker sores at least twice daily for thirty seconds at a time.

Be sure to brush your teeth after each meal to prevent food particles from irritating the canker sores. You might also choose to rinse your mouth after each brushing with this herbal rinse.
