  • 1 teaspoon of Honey (preferably Manuka)
  • 1/2 cup of Water
  • 2 tablespoons of Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Ground cayenne pepper

Directions

This powerful throat gargle is a natural remedy worth keeping in mind in the upcoming winter months. Ginger, for starters, possesses anti-inflammatory compounds, called terpenoids, that can soothe a sore throat, while lemon contains high levels of vitamin C and other antioxidants that boost white blood cell production to help the body stave off sickness. Cayenne, on the other hand, is capable of reducing inflammation and reducing pain thanks to its capsaicin content, similarly to honey, which is known for its antiseptic, antimicrobial, and soothing properties.

  1. Warm up the water enough to dissolve the honey. Then add the rest of the ingredients and give it a good mix. Transfer to a cup before use.(5 minutes)

Gargle this mixture twice a day or more if desired. Consider omitting cayenne pepper if painful, open ulcers are present in the mouth.
