  • Easy
  • 1 hour 34 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (powder)
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 cup of water (boiling)
  • 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar (preferrably unpasteurized)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of sage (dried leaves)

Directions

Sage has anti-inflammatory properties that make it a useful herb for healing sores. Regular use of this gargle will soothingly reduce swelling and pain in the throat.

  1. Pour the boiling water over the dried sage in a cup. Cover, and leave to steep for 30 - 45 minutes.(45 minutes)
  2. Strain the leaves from the liquid and discard. Add salt, cayenne, and apple cider vinegar while the tea is still warm. Stir to dissolve the ingredients.(2 minutes)

Gargle a teaspoon of the mixture every 30 minutes. The rinse will be more effective the longer you gargle for; do not swallow, as the taste will be unpleasant.
