  • 1 pound of blueberry (frozen)
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup of honey (or to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons of chia

Directions

Why buy blueberry jam at the store if you can make it at home without all the preservatives and refined sugar? This delicious chia blueberry jam is incredibly easy and requires only four ingredients. Both blueberries and chia seeds are abundant in antioxidants and dietary fiber. Lightly sweetened with honey, this blueberry jam with chia seeds is definitely a keeper.

  1. Add the frozen blueberries to a saucepan and cook them on medium heat, stirring occasionally. They will release water, bubble, and start losing their shape.(8 minutes)
  2. Then take the pot off the heat, stir in the honey, lemon juice, and chia seeds. Adjust the sweetness to your liking. Put the lid on and set aside for 15 minutes.(15 minutes)
  3. Transfer to a jar and keep it in the fridge for up to a week. Enjoy!

You may also swap blueberries for strawberries, cherries, or blackberries. Or better yet, make a mixed berry jam and enjoy their richness of flavor all at once!

To make it vegan-friendly, you may replace the honey with maple or agave syrup!
