  • 15 ounces of kidney beans (canned or about 1 1/2 cups cooked)
  • 1/2 cup of HerbaZest Cacao Powder (unsweetened)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 dark chocolate chip (+more for topping)

Directions

Rich, fudgy, and naturally sweetened, these wholesome brownies combine kidney beans, bananas, cacao, and quinoa flakes for a nourishing twist on a classic dessert. Naturally providing fiber, complete protein, and essential minerals, they're a delicious way to enjoy chocolate flavors with pure, everyday ingredients.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Lightly grease or line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.(1 minute)
  2. Add all the ingredients except the chocolate chips to a blender or food processor. Process until completely smooth.(5 minutes)
  3. Fold in the chocolate chips.(2 minutes)
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Add extra chocolate chips, if desired.(2 minutes)
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the center is set and a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.(25 minutes)
  6. Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing. Enjoy!
