  • 1 1/2 cups of Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 cup of HerbaZest Amaranth Flakes
  • 3 cups of Rice Krispies
  • 1/3 cup of Agave syrup
  • 2 teaspoons of Vanilla extract
  • Salt (a pinch)
  • 1 tablespoon of Coconut oil
  • 3.5 ounces of Chocolate chips (dark)

Directions

This recipe is a healthier and naturally sweetened version of an all-time favorite. Alongside Rice Krispies, it is enhanced with protein and iron from amaranth as well as healthy fats and vitamin B6 from peanuts. The soft texture and sweet flavor of these already mouth-watering treats are perfectly balanced with dark chocolate, which, besides taking this recipe to another level, offers energy-boosting compounds.

  1. In a bowl, mix the peanut butter, vanilla, and agave.(3 minutes)
  2. Add the amaranth flakes and the Rice Krispies. Mix well.(3 minutes)
  3. Add the mixture to a parchment paper lined baking dish (8"x8") and press it down with a spatula until flat and firm.(5 minutes)
  4. For the topping, melt the chocolate with coconut oil, then pour it over the mixture.(5 minutes)
  5. Put the pan in the fridge for a few hours, or until set. Then cut into bars and enjoy!
