Ingredients

  • 1 pound of figs
  • 3 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup of almonds (or other nuts; roughly chopped)
  • 1/4 coconut oil
  • 1 cup of HerbaZest Quinoa Flakes

Directions

This warm fig crumble combines soft, juicy fruit with a golden, lightly crisp topping for a satisfying contrast in textures. The natural sweetness of figs pairs beautifully with the mild flavor of quinoa, while almonds add an extra layer of crunch. Each serving provides plant-based nutrients in a simple, comforting dessert.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (176°C).
  2. Slice the figs lengthwise into quarters and arrange them in an oven-safe dish.(5 minutes)
  3. In a small bowl, mix the quinoa flakes, melted coconut oil, and brown sugar until combined. Add the chopped almonds and mix again to form a crumbly texture.(5 minutes)
  4. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the figs. Bake for about 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the figs are soft and bubbling.(30 minutes)
  5. Serve warm on its own or with ice cream. Enjoy.
