Originally established in 1908 under the name Archives of Internal Medicine, JAMA Internal Medicine is one of the leading peer-reviewed scientific publications in the general and internal medicine field, which encompasses many branches of medicine, from gastroenterology to immunology. Edited and published by the American Medical Association, the journal releases two editions per month, which include scientific studies, trial reports, reviews, and commentary on new discoveries in the field. The journal is ranked 7th out of 150 in its category, and its 2013 impact factor is 13.246.
