Nettle Root Decoction for Reducing Inflammation

  • Nettle
  • Water
  • 1 ounce of Nettle (root, dried)
  • 4 cups of Water


The common heat, pain, redness, and swelling associated with inflammation can be very aggravating to deal with. Ease your discomfort with this simple decoction made with nettle root, an herb prized for its anti-inflammatory and diuretic properties, meaning it expels excess water from the body and reduces swealing.

  1. Bring water to a boil.(5 minutes)
  2. Reduce heat to very low and stir in nettle root.(1 minute)
  3. Simmer.(20 minutes)
  4. Strain the mixture, reserving the liquid. Enjoy!(1 minute)

Drink two or three cups daily to relieve symptoms. Store in the refrigerator for up to two days and reheat before use.
