Ingredients

  • Thyme
    Thyme
  • 5 ounces of Thyme (leaves and flowers)
  • 1 cup of Honey
  • 2 pints of Water

Directions

This powerful thyme syrup only takes a few minutes to make, and it will soothe the pain of coughs and colds, ease congestion, and fight bacteria.

  1. In a saucepan, combine the thyme and water over very low heat. Keep the lid of the pan slightly open to allow steam to escape, and simmer gently until the liquid is reduced by half.(10 minutes)
  2. Strain the mixture and compost the leftover thyme. Add the honey and stir in until it is melted. Divide into glass bottles with airtight lids and store in the refrigerator.(3 minutes)

Consume 1 teaspoon of this syrup every couple of hours until the cold or cough subsides. It can be stored in an airtight jar in the refrigerator, where it will keep for up to 5 weeks.
