  • 1 cup of astragalus
  • 1 cup of rose hips
  • 3/4 cups of sugar
  • 1 cup of water

Directions

This immunity-stimulating syrup is an herbal must-have for keeping colds away during the winter months. Astragalus' immunostimulant properties can prevent microbial infections and help the body recover from them more quickly. Rose hips, or the seed pots of the rose plant, contain a richness of immunity-boosting vitamin C that surpasses even that of the oranges.

  1. Combine the rose hips, astragalus, and water in a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Then cover and simmer for 20 minutes.(25 minutes)
  2. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool. Strain the mixture through a jelly bag, reserving the liquid.(15 minutes)
  3. Add the sugar to the saucepan and boil the mixture for 10 more minutes.(10 minutes)
  4. Transfer the syrup into a glass bottle and fasten while it’s still hot.(3 minutes)

Take one tablespoon of this astragalus syrup twice a day for an immunity boost.
