Directions

This potently flavored syrup is a medicinal must-have to strengthen immunity during the flu season.  Garlic has potent antiviral properties, and astragalus is traditionally used in Chinese medicine to stimulate the immune system.

  1. Heat the water, garlic cloves, and astragalus roots in a saucepan over a low heat until the liquid is reduced to approximately 16 ounces.(10 minutes)
  2. Strain the herbs from the mixture and discard them in the compost. Pour the liquid back into the saucepan.(2 minutes)
  3. Add the honey and warm the mixture until the honey is thoroughly combined.(10 minutes)
  4. Remove from heat; leave to cool, then pour syrup into a bottle for storage.(3 minutes)

This syrup will keep for several weeks when stored in the refrigerator, ready to use as required. Take up to 3 teaspoons every day to boost immune system activity and help prevent the flu. Consult a doctor for a more personalized dosage.
